GLIMPSE OF INDIA Classical Music Lec Dem by Get a Glimpse of India at the Beaverton City Library! Breathing magical melodies on the Indian bamboo flute, maestro V.K Raman is one of the leading flautists today. Raman with his unique style has captivated audiences globally. As a virtuoso music composer, he has created many CDs. His most recent CD - 'Music for deep meditation' reached # 1 spot on the apple I tunes world music charts & remained in the top 50 albums for more than 6 months. |

GLIMPSE OF INDIA Classical Dance Lec Dem by Get a Glimpse of India at the Beaverton City Library! Portland's renowned artist - Jayanthi Raman is a dedicated and dynamic teacher and performer, as well as a renowned choreographer. She is the recipient of many honors and awards over the years. She has been acclaimed as a 'scholar', 'world class dancer' and as the 'gold standard of Indian dance in the Northwest' by the critics and her peers. |

Dear Rasikas: We start Summer concerts/educational events during July/August 2009. RASIKA holds 6-7 concerts and additional lecture demonstrations in a year for Portland audience. In the past season (2008-09) we presented 10 events comprising of 7 concerts and 3 lecture demonstrations. For the 2009-2010 season, we plan to bring series of high caliber exceptional artists, featuring Lalgudi Violin duo, Kadri Gopalnath-Kanyakumari, Mandolin U Shrinivas, and more. Please stay tuned for fall concerts announcement shortly. Support RASIKA by becoming a season member or better a donor and help RASIKA launch a wonderful season again after completing our 10 successful years.
