Farewell to a legendary Guru, genius musician and incredible human... his music lives on........
Our condolences to the Lalgudi family from our Rasika family.

Lalgudi Gopala Iyer Jayaraman (September 17, 1930 - April 22, 2013)

Lalgudi Sir: the very name brings memories of magical classicism, melody, purity, and excellence in all aspects of music and life. For our Rasika as an organization, his family members have all visited, performed, taught and dined with us. We lovingly honor and will continue to present the magic and music of this legend through his family. More closer now is the guidance and support Sir and the entire family have provided for the Rasika Music School, following the Lalgudi tradition, enrolling 100 students now, imparting this beautiful music to the next generation of students locally.
No one can match the musical prowess or genius of the maestro, yet he was approachable and down to earth, soft spoken but with a razor sharp observation and perfect judgement of those around him, witty yet kind in his spoken words.....
We will miss him and will continue to follow his musical journey taking the small steps that we can, to follow a legend....
Our prayers are with the Lalgudi family.
