EDUCATION & OUTREACH EVENTS

RASIKA offers a formal educational and outreach program, which teaches local community about the Culture, Traditions, and Heritage of India, through the classical concerts series and gives participants hands on experience through camps, workshops, and lecture demonstrations. RASIKA's education and community outreach programs are founded on the belief that arts education is an essential component for all Oregonians, especially youth/children in the community. From the inception of its first education programs in 1999, the organization has continued to enhance the quality, expand the scope and extend the reach of its education programs. Our outreach in the community includes being featured in the Young Audiences and the RACC roster. Dr. Jayanthi Raman is the Director of Education and Outreach efforts and instrumental in bringing together the various local and visiting talents to the community.

Lecture Demonstrations & Workshops: on Indian Percussion, Classical dances and other events offer adults and children a way to understand and appreciate the classical arts.
'Meet with artists'
: Offers an opportunity for public to meet the artists and learn in detail about the art form they practice and the way it has influenced the artists lives.

Master Artists/Teachers: are visiting and local artists of repute who are keen on promoting the educational goals of RASIKA.
