Trance is a quest to present Indian performing traditions in a collage of rhythm, a kaleidoscope of colors, sensual poetry, and traditional Bharatha Natyam. The ever-evolving mythology of Shiva, the avatars of Vishnu, Mary Magdalene, among other streams of consciousness is re-contextualized in a form rich in movement and visual imagery. Complimented by a sonic imagery ranging from Indian classical to electronic music for audiences to be regaled and transported into the primordial state of being in Trance.

Born into a family of dancers, dancer/actress Shobana and her troupe of dancers have witnessed standing ovations at over 100 cities world wide for performances including Trance. Accompanied by live orchestra of musicians and stunning lighting and costuming creates an evening of enchanting music and dance. Not to miss. One evening only!
Duality: An Immigrant Experience - Dance Tour

The Duality dance production is adapted and will be touring various venues in Oregon showcasing the best of Indian performing arts.

Venues planned include: Chehalem Cultural Center, Salem Library, Blue Mountain Community College, Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, Pacific University etc.

Team of dancers from India and the Northwest join choreographer/dansuese Jayanthi Raman on the tour.

Collective Vision - Dance Concert

An Indo-Jazz Collaborative Musical Indian Dance

Jazz legend and Guggenheim Fellow Chuck Israels joins with Indian dance exponent Jayanthi Raman to create an evening of enchanting music and dance. The two artists lead a team of musicians and dancers from Northwest and India.

The prime disciples of the Dr. BMK (as fondly referred to), Carnatic Musicians who are well established and reputed in India and have travelled all over the world as a Carnatic Music unique male-female duo. They were more than disciples for their guru. In fact, they were the sole strength for the legend during his weakening old age during 2013/16.

Dr.K.Krishnakumar has accompanied in recent years almost all concerts with his guru for almost a hundred of his concerts and made a mark as the guru blessed him to continue his musical legacy at his last live concert at Anakapalli near Vishakhapatnam.

RASIKA has had a long association with Dr.BMK for more than two decades and with great reverence to the greatestest Carnatic musician of this century, RASIKA is proud to present the illustrious disciples Mrs. Binni Krishnakumar & Dr.K.Krishnakumar for this carnatic concert tribute tour.

The couple will present Carnatic compositions of Dr. BMK along with his favorite selections of other Vaggeyakaras with anecdotes and life experiences of the great guru between renderings. There is also opportunity for lecture prior to concert to talk about experiences with Dr.BMK. There will also be some recordings of Dr. BMK sold for the benefit of The Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna Memorial Trust established by his family members to preserve and propagate the legacy of the great musician.
